Connecting the Public and Private Sectors
Mission Statement
P/PREP (Public-Private Real Estate Professionals) is a peer networking group for professionals who work on public-private real estate and economic development projects. P/PREP aims to encourage knowledge-sharing between professionals from various disciplines involved in these complex projects and to nurture the professional and intellectual development of its members. P/PREP welcomes participants working throughout the city and on projects around the world.
P/PREP History
In April 2012, a call went out to professionals working on public-private real estate projects to attend an event to explore the creation of a new peer-networking organization dedicated to the complex work they do. The response was overwhelming, and P/PREP was born. Organized by a small group of friends working at HR&A Advisors, NYCEDC, Fried Frank, and the Downtown Alliance, membership in P/PREP has quickly grown to include over 700 professionals working in a range of government agencies and many of New York s leading firms focused on real estate development, consulting, law, finance, and design.
After three years of successful programming, P/PREP formally incorporated as a non-charitable not-for-profit organization in April 2015. The Board of Directors of P/PREP looks forward to building upon this foundation and developing P/PREP as a platform to connect, learn, and advance collaboration between the public and private sectors on real estate development projects.
